Celebrating with Candles

This weeks challenge at Stampin' Royalty is a Sketch Challenge!
Here is the sketch...

I really adore this sketch and believe i will use it many many times!
But for today, i used it on this birthday card!
I knew there would be a lot of patterns on it, so i decided that the circle should just be an embossed solid. Beyond that, it is just layering, and i used White Embossing Powder for the sentiment portion :o)

A Different Angle

The challenge at Stampin' Royalty for the week is a Picture Inspiration Challenge!
Here is the inspiring picture...

It is probably obvious as to what i gathered my inspiration from...the 'handrawn' look of the images on the plates, the pattern on the bottom right..the arrows, the triangles, the colors...

I think the card explains itself, but here are the other details:

Supplies:
cardstock - Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Ink - Basic Black
Stamps - Yipee Skippee

A Burst of Happy

The Challenge this week at Stampin' Royalty is a Color Challenge!
The picture makes the Pistachio look really bright, but i promise, it is Pistachio Pudding :o)
I will admit that i kind of threw this card together, but i had the idea for the scrap piece halo(and yes, they are supposed to be offset)  around the main sentiment first. so i had made that portion before the rest of the card, then put the rest of it together. it really is better looking in real life than the picture makes it look haha. And using a bit of Silver Glimmer Paper always makes everything that much better!

Supplies:
Ink - Early Espresso, Pistachio Pudding
Cardstock - So Saffron, Pistachio Pudding, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Stamps - Yippee Skippee, Gorgeous Grunge
Accessories: Silver Glimmer Paper, Silver Ribbon, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder

Stay Gold

Do you like my Outsiders reference in my title? :o)
This weeks Stampin Royalty Theme is Gold!
I am really digging the whole diagonal look on cards recently. i do tend to be very structured in my design thinking, and diagonal is a way to stay structured (to appease my inner OCD) while making things a little extra fun!
This card is cuter in person than what the picture portrays. the lighting was bad, and it is hard to get the shine of the gold in my normal photograph set up.
But hopefully you get the idea :o)

I started by using the negative of one of the larger stamps from Daydream Medallions on Whisper White, and i embossed with Gold embossing powder.  then for the strip across the middle, i layered the Gold Polka Dot Washi Tape over a white strip, then i used my Gold marker to run across the sides to give it a border. Then i layered it on a larger strip of Pool Party. The sentiment is from an older stamp set, and stamped in Smoky Slate. For the mat behind the sentiment punch, i just cut around the edges to match the outline of the punched piece.
