Feelin' Blue...

If you look carefully, you will see this card actually has NO embellishments... why, you ask? no, it's not because i am holding a grudge against embellishments, it's because that happens to be the theme this week at Stampin' Royalty! So when i was originally thinking about what i wanted to do for a card, i wanted to use those pretty antique blue and white dishes as inspiration (I hope you know what i am talking about) My mom loves those!
anyway, i actually did a couple different techniques on this card. the flowers on the right are stamped, then masked (yes, i made a mask for those crazy flowers) then sponged with Bashful Blue. The flowers on the left were actually cut out and glued on. I will tell you why. I had sponged all the way across when I had done the right side, then realized i needed more flowers on the left so I just cut them out and glued them on. took me a while haha. then i stamped and cut out the hummingbird, and the sentiment. would have been pretty easy if not for those delicate flowers!

Ink- Pacific Point, Bashful Blue

Is it Retro?

This weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge is a Color Challenge, and when i look at those colors, i tend to think "60's Dish towels" or something 50's-60's -ish.. so i wanted to make a card that would kind of have a retro feel to it, and i had just gotten my new dies this week to make the scallops and the fancy edge, and wanted to try them out on this card! I fussed over this one for about 2 hours total, and ended up with this! I wanted to have the decorative edge go at an angle, and so i just placed the die to where i thought i would look good, and then did the same with the white and layered them. I might want to re-do this card and change a few things... because i am kind of funny that way...But maybe this will give you some inspiration and you will have fun making your own card!

A Card, A Cage, and a Challenge...

Well, after about an hour of trying to decide, and then another hour and a half of putting it all together, here is the finished sample for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge!

Hopefully my time and effort will help take the guess work out for you so that you will be able to put together a similar card quickly!

Each Day is a Gift

So this weeks Stampin' Royalty challenge card is for a Picture Inspiration. What stood out to me most was the lines and the colors of the picture. I tried to mimic those in this card. The present was made freehand, i just took a scrap of Pretty in Pink that was square, cut a slight angle on each side, then put it on a piece of Melon Mambo and cut around it...then the bow is actually a circle punch with pie pieces cut out of it. of course the ribbon on the present is a scrap strip and the polka dots were made using the Owl Punch. I added 3 pink buttons from the Subtles Buttons, Stamped the sentiment in Melon Mambo, added some Melon Mambo Ribbon, some Rhinestones, and did a little piercing then put it all together!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Stamps: Happiest Birthday Wishes
Ink: Melon Mambo
Punches: Owl, 1 3/4 Circle Punch
Other Accessories: Rhinestones, Subtles Buttons, Neutrals Patterned Paper stack Melon Mambo Dotted Scallop Ribbon Paper Piercer

Have a Heart

Love is in the air for this weeks challenge over at Stampin' Royalty!

With the theme this week as Valentines day/Love, what better to represent that then super sparkly red hearts and a kiss! I have gone with a somewhat simplistic non fussy design design again, because i'm not a fussy person. : )

It's pretty self explanatory, but i should mention that i did have to cut out the sentiment panel and mat to fit inside the Curly Label piece.

Stamps: Petite Pairs

Ink: Basic Black
Punches: Curly Label, Full Heart, Heart to Heart, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border,
